Introduction:
The Borderlands series is finally back with its third installment (fourth game in the series), and it's bigger and more chaotic than ever. With four new vault hunters to choose from, each with different action skills and three skill trees, "bazillions" of guns to loot, lots more bosses, and a ton of content, you're sure to get your long overdue Borderlands fix from this game. The achievements in this game don't require as many playthroughs as previous games, but there is still a lot to do to complete everything on offer. Let's get started.

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
First off, be aware that there are no achievements tied to specific characters this time around, and no achievements are tied to difficulty. This means you can feel free to choose any vault hunter that suits your play style, and you can play on Easier difficulty if you don't want as much of a challenge (although it's still not a walk in the park, as the game tells you).

Secondly, there are a number of achievements that are easier to do early in the game, or are best to start paying attention to early:

  • The "Florida Man" achievement requires you to down yourself with a grenade or barrel explosion. This can be a pain later in the game when you have a lot of health. It's best to knock this out right near the start of the game. Refer to the achievement solution for more information
  • The achievement "Barreled Right Over Them" tasks you with killing an enemy with an exploding barrel. This is another one that is easier to do early in the game, although you can always return to an earlier area later in the game to still find low level enemies to kill with a barrel
  • Keep on the lookout for a weapon with a knife attached to the front which you can stab enemies with when you melee. You'll need to kill an enemy with a melee from a gun blade for "Feelin' A Little Stabby" so make sure you knock that out as soon as you find a bladed gun. You can always return to an early area with low level enemies later
  • Keep on the lookout for a grenade mod with "sticky" in the title, meaning it sticks and doesn't bounce. You'll need to kill at least two enemies with one grenade for the "Stick It To 'Em" achievement. This is easiest to do on a group of skags in The Droughts near the start of the game. You can always return here later
  • The "On Fleek" achievement requires you to equip purple or orange gear in every inventory slot. Once you get to Sanctuary, you'll have access to a safe to store items. Keeping lower level purple and orange items here rather than selling them will ensure you save up enough for this achievement eventually, without having to keep low level gear with you

With all of that in mind, play through the story quests and be sure to at least pick up all the side quests as you see them, which are marked as orange exclamation marks. Feel free to complete quests in any order, but know you do need to complete every side quest eventually. Side quests also provide needed XP and often reward you with really good weapons, so it's in your best interest to complete them as they become available. Just know that the side quests given on the bounty boards on Sanctuary aren't required for any achievements, but they do give good XP.

As you progress through the game, you'll come across many types of markers on your map. Some are required for achievements and some aren't. The ones that are needed for achievements:

  • Hammerlock Creatures, indicated by a skull inside a green diamond
  • Targets of Opportunity, indicated by crossed swords inside a green diamond
  • Unique vehicles, which show up as purple vehicles on the map. While these aren't strictly required, they do guarantee progress towards the "Mechani-Cool" achievement
  • Eridian Slabs, which show up as white triangles with a little design on them. These can't be interacted with until you progress quite far in the story though, so you'll have to ignore them for most of the game

The following aren't required for achievements. Even so, they provide great XP for very little work, so it's still a good idea to grab each when they're nearby.

  • Claptrap parts, indicated by a green diamond on the map
  • Radio towers, indicated by a tower symbol inside a green diamond
  • Typhon logs, indicated by an Echo symbol inside a green diamond. These not only provide XP but also a cache of blue and purple weapons when you complete each

Once you've completed the game, all side quests, and all of the items listed above which are required for achievements, you may still need to complete the Eridian Proving Grounds and the Circles of Slaughter. These are wave-based trials that can prove to be the most difficult part of the game, especially if playing solo. These also count as side quests, so completing them should wrap up the last of your side quests. By the time you've finished everything, you will very likely be at level 50. If not, the "Biggest Badass in the Universe" achievement solution has some tips for reaching level 50. That should wrap up the long term achievements.

Multiplayer:
There are two achievements that require co-op, one for reviving an ally and one for winning a duel, but both can be done either online with someone else or locally with a second controller in splitscreen. Despite those being the only achievements that require co-op, the achievement for getting a perfect score on the Firing Range is significantly easier in co-op with at least one other person to help. If you don't have anyone locally or online to play with, use THIS THREAD to find someone.

Mop-Up:
If you're still missing any achievements, such as co-op ones, the Firing Range, or discovering all locations, now is the time to knock out those achievements. Refer to the guide for how best to unlock each, which should wrap up your completion.

Moxxi's Heist of the Handsome Jackpot DLC

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
In this unambiguously named DLC you do as you would expect and plan a heist of Handsome Jacks', well, Jackpot. This involves a series of Borderlands-standard missions, only you will ultimately recruit a team of rag-tag undesirables to try and pull off a daring heist. The achievements are mostly miscellaneous or collectible in nature and only one is unlocked for completing the story; however, none are missable and all can be attempted even after the conclusion of the DLC. To begin the DLC, there is a poster on the wall of Sanctuary that you must interact with, and it is marked with a yellow diamond with an exclamation mark inside on your map.

I would recommend just playing through and completing the story and not worrying about any of the achievements initially. You are likely to make progress towards some of the collectible achievements as you're playing and exploring. The only achievement you should be conscious of while playing is "Don't Be a Stranger," as even though it isn't missable, you will need to backtrack to the area where it is unlocked as opposed to unlocking immediately as it becomes available, so see its description for details.

Guns, Love, and Tentacles DLC

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
To start this DLC, head to Sanctuary to Hammerlock's room on the top floor, and there is a brochure on a table in his room to access this new content. To save yourself some unnecessary grinding after completing the story, refer to the "Good One, Babe" achievement solution. To summarize, let Deathtrap (Gaige's robot companion) get as many kills as possible when he fights alongside you. Don't kill enemies, and let him kill them instead. It'll save you a lot of time later.

Aside from that, feel free to play through at your own pace, doing any mix of main missions, side missions, and collectibles/challenges. You're going to need to do all of the above for this completion. If you want to avoid as much backtracking as possible, you should follow the video guide in the "Whispers on the Wind" achievement solution for all of the Echo logs. In particular, the last two areas of the game, Negul Neshai and Heart's Desire, are very big/long areas, with logs spaced throughout them. Following the video will cut down on backtracking through them later. They sadly aren't marked on your map, so it's highly unlikely you'll find many on your own unless you really explore thoroughly. The majority of the challenges, on the other hand, will be visible on your map, and you'll pass by almost all of them while completing main and side missions. Feel free to keep those guides handy for each area too though, to avoid any backtracking later.

Once you complete all of the main missions and side missions (one side mission is only available post-game), you should then mop up whatever challenges and logs you're missing, and finish off any remaining rare spawn quests. Lastly, if you didn't finish listening to 25 fish jokes, you'll need to grind them out to finish off this completion.

Bounty of Blood DLC

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
In order to start this DLC, head to Sanctuary. When you fast travel there, you'll be by the machine to respec your skill points. There's a round table in the middle of the room with a wanted poster on it. Interact with the poster to start the DLC.

As with the previous DLC, there are story missions, side missions, and crew challenges that need to be done for this completion. Thankfully, there are no missable or miscellaneous achievements at all; it's just those three things you need to do. Unfortunately, many crew challenges aren't reachable on your first pass-through areas because you'll need to unlock two new "abilities" as you progress through the story. So even if you follow the guide for crew challenges, you'll unavoidably need to go through some areas again. So complete the five story missions and eleven side missions along the way. When you're done, use the guide to mop up whatever crew challenges you're missing, and that'll wrap up this DLC completion.

Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck DLC

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
To start this DLC, head aboard Sanctuary and go to Tannis's lab on the top floor. In the back left corner near the arcade machine is what looks like a mine of some sort with an exclamation above it. Interact with this to start the DLC.

The DLC consists of 5 main missions, 13 side missions, and 9 crew challenges, all of which need to be completed to unlock all achievements. The majority of the side quests are right in your path as you progress, and require virtually no effort to complete, so it's worth it to do them all as you progress to minimize backtracking later. The same goes for the crew challenges: they're all easily found as you progress, but are scattered along the long linear maps in the DLC. So to avoid a lot of backtracking, it's best to either explore all darkened areas as you progress or to utilize the video guide in the achievement guide below to ensure you don't miss any.

After completing the first four main missions and opening the giant doors in the main hub area, be aware that there is an achievement that requires some work both right before and right after the final boss. If you mess it up, you'll need to defeat the final boss to try again. To avoid the need for multiple fights, be sure to check out the video in the "Ye Who Enter" achievement solution below when you open the gates and start the final main mission.

Once you get that miscellaneous achievement out of the way, and tackle those, frankly, very annoying crew challenges, you'll be home free to this completion.

Designer's Cut DLC

Abbreviated Walkthrough:
To start this DLC, head aboard Sanctuary and go to the end with the fast travel station. On the wall across from the room with your bank is a poster that is pretty dark and hard to read. Interact with this to start the DLC.

*NOTE* All gear you extract from this DLC goes directly into your bank. So before starting this DLC, make sure there is sufficient room in your bank for any loot you want to extract. I recommend at least 15-20 empty slots to make things efficient. If it fills up, you'll need to travel back to Sanctuary to make more room to continue working on achievements.

First, an explanation of this DLC, since it is entirely different than any other Borderlands content. It is basically a Battle Royale type of mode but you play against normal enemies, not other players. You start with absolutely nothing in this DLC: no guns, shields, gear, etc., but also no action skill, no skills, no Guardian rank, etc. You're a blank slate and there is no uniqueness to the Vault Hunter you're playing as. The goal in the DLC is to find gear, either by killing enemies or looting chests, and use that gear to get better gear by killing more enemies and looting more chests, until eventually you have good enough gear to take on the boss (red skull icon in the center of the map). Defeating the boss "beats" the DLC. While playing, there is a Murdercane that surrounds the arena and gradually closes in on the center, putting you on a time limit to explore and find gear. Unfortunately, the gear you obtain while playing the DLC doesn't come back to the main game (and other DLCs) with you unless you extract it via one of the extraction pods located around the map. There are only two or three of these located randomly around the map, and unfortunately each one can only be used to extract 3 items of gear. They can be used at any time once you reach them though. If you manage to defeat the boss, you will have access to another extraction pod that can extract 5 items of gear. If you die at any point, you have to start over and try again, and all of the gear you had but didn't extract is lost. You don't lose any money when you die though. The map, enemy locations, chest locations, treasure caches, and boss are identical every time you play. The only random aspects are where the extraction pods are and how many there are, and of course what gear you get from chests and enemies.

Two other important things to note (Credit to Puppys for the information):

  1. it has been reported that this DLC is significantly more difficult with four players playing cooperatively. Having experience solo and reports of two player co-op play, I highly recommend playing with a party of two or less, or else you risk making this already bad DLC even more difficult and frustrating.
  2. It has also been reported that only the host gets credit for extracted gear, and other players in the lobby don't, when playing cooperatively. As a result, I highly recommend playing this DLC solo or at least being host to ensure you aren't wasting time not making progress towards the achievements.

With that explained, a quick rundown of achievements. You'll need to defeat the boss at least once to unlock "In The Eye Of A Murdercane." Since you'll need many plays to unlock the other two achievements, you'll have many attempts at this. The second achievement, "Complex Made Simple," is for discovering all 20 named locations around the map, and is a gradual but simple process. The final achievement, "Treat Yo Self," is for extracting a cumulative total of 100 pieces of gear across all plays, and this is what will take the most amount of time. Refer to the guide for tips and how to make each as easy and painless as possible. I recommend dropping in, getting some gear, then making a beeline for grayed areas to discover more locations. Collect more gear as youdo so. Then head back to the center, extracting any gear you can on the way and before the Murdercane moves in. If you have good enough gear to take on the boss, do so to extract more when you're done, otherwise let enemies kill you so you can respawn to quickly make more progress toward the locations and gear extractions, since those take the longest to complete.

As far as strategy, since chests are always in the same places, when you land you will always be very close to a long white weapon chest. You don't need to melee enemies until they drop weapons. It'll take some getting used to, but there is ways a chest near where you spawn. First priority is getting a shield so you don't die quickly, then weapons. Fortunately, even white weapons seem to work very well against the majority of enemies. I found most treasure caches to not be worth the hassle of trying to defeat all of the enemies. I ended up getting green and blue drops regularly from enemies. I was also able to defeat the boss multiple times with green and blue weapons. The boss has a bar of blue health (shield), a bar of yellow health (armor), and then a normal bar of red health. So naturally it would be ideal to have a shock, corrosive, and then incendiary guns with you, but as with the base game, if you have enough firepower you'll be fine.

Beat the boss at least once, make gradual progress toward uncovering all the gray areas of the map, and then grind out the 100 pieces of extracted gear, and you'll finally finish this DLC content.

Director's Cut DLC

The Director's Cut DLC brings with it a series of side missions that were cut from the base game (and an associated achievement for finishing them), the first raid boss of this game (and an achievement for defeating it), and then one final achievement for completing a miscellaneous cumulative task. The story missions are very linear and straightforward, and also pretty short. Starting and progressing the missions isn't immediately obvious though. To start the first one, head to your room on Sanctuary near the front of the ship (where the navigation controls are) and you'll find a microphone in your room you can interact with. After each case, you'll need to return to this spot to begin the next case, so don't forget to return to Sanctuary after each mission so you can start the next. The boss at the end of them can be quite a damage sponge though, so be sure to bring good gear (especially shock gear) or you might be fighting it for a while. Once you defeat the boss to complete the story missions, you'll obtain the "mysterious amulet" from a chest. This is a purple artifact that will be added to your inventory. With it, you can then grind out the eridium piles needed for "Might Beyond Sight." Be sure to read that achievement solution for the most efficient way to grind out that achievement.

Lastly, at any point actually, you can attempt to take down the raid boss added with this DLC. It actually isn't tied to the DLC missions (unlike every other raid boss, who only became available to fight after you'd completed all story missions). This one is available immediately, and the mission can be accepted from a room in the bottom floor of Sanctuary (near the drop pod you take to planets). After you accept the mission ("You Will Die. Over. And. Over."), the little lootable box right on the table will become lootable and will contain 500 eridium, which is how much you need to spend to have access to fight the raid boss. This is where difficulty of this DLC will vary immensely, as you could very well take down this raid boss solo on your first try, or you may need to get a team of four players together and struggle to defeat it. More tips and information can be found in "Blood Sucking Freak."

Overall Conclusion:
Borderlands 3 proves to be a fulfilling, fun, and addictive sequel that has been long awaited. There are more guns, more bosses, more loot, more characters, and more fun to be had. The achievements are more straightforward this time around, but that doesn't mean they're easier than other games. With surprisingly no raid boss, the list shouldn't pose any real problems for most gamers this time. Congrats on an awesome completion!

    Reach level 50.

    (1)

As you complete missions, gets kills, and discover locations, you will earn XP which goes towards your level. You shouldn't focus on your level or this achievement until you've done all of the following first, as they all provide valuable XP towards leveling up:

    • Complete all story quests
    • Complete all side quests
    • Complete all Circles of Slaughter
    • Complete all of Zer0's Targets of Opportunity
    • Complete all of Hammerlock's Legendary Hunts
    • Complete all of the Proving Grounds

By the time you've done everything the game has to offer and unlocked all other achievements, it's highly likely you'll have reached level 50. If you aren't level 50 by the time you complete everything else, you have a few options to gain the rest of the needed XP.

    • Farm/grind bosses/high level enemies. There are many bosses that respawn in the game and scale to your level. You can simply return to their boss room to refight them and earn a lot of XP, then quit out and reload your game to fight them again. Some favorites are the vault bosses and some of Hammerlock's legendary creatures
    • Replay Circles of Slaughter. The Circles are repeatable side quests, and they offer up lots of enemies, especially badass enemies, which give great XP. These quests can be played over and over to grind out XP
    • Start up True Vault Hunter mode. This is essentially a New Game Plus mode where enemies are tougher but give better rewards. This is a good way to earn more XP, but keep in mind you'll be in a new playthrough. You can still jump back to your original playthrough though, so don't worry about losing that progress

One other option is, once you complete the game, to activate Mayhem mode. This gives you a significant boost to XP earned but makes the game harder. If you can manage to defeat bigger enemies in Mayhem mode, you'll earn significantly more XP and level up faster.

However you tackle it, once you finally reach level 50 this achievement will unlock.

  • Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (14)

    Bolt-Ons

    30

Unlock 10 Character Heads or Skins.

    (1)

There are four ways to unlock heads and skins:

    • Loot them from killed enemies
    • Win them from Moxxi's slots
    • Earn them as rewards from side quests
    • Buy them from Crazy Earl (this also makes progress towards the "My Name Is Earl" achievement)

You will likely come across enough dropped from enemies as long as you pay attention to all of the drops, especially when you defeat bosses, and will get even more from a few side quests. If you find yourself at the end of the game and still haven't unlocked this achievement, as long as you have enough Eridium to spend, buying them from Crazy Earl is a good option since their purchase counts towards two achievements.

  • Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (15)

    Mechani-Cool

    30

Unlock 10 Vehicle Parts via hijacking.

Relatively early in the game, after meeting Ellie, you'll be taught about hijacking vehicles, and that if you return the vehicle to a Catch-A-Ride station, you can unlock new vehicle parts. For this achievement, you'll need to unlock ten new parts. Unfortunately, this does not mean you can just hijack ten vehicles and return them. They won't necessarily provide unique new parts each time. There are two options for making progress towards this achievement:

    1. Hijack and return random vehicles you come across. Some vehicles randomly will have new parts, but there is unfortunately no way to know this until you return the vehicle. This is more of a trial and error approach until you find vehicles that reward you with new parts.
    2. Hijack the unique vehicles that are marked on your map by Ellie. These aren't part of a side quest, so they don't have quest markers, but they are instead marked by the small green diamonds that other optional objectives are marked with, and the vehicles themselves show up purple on the map. Returning these vehicles guarantees you new parts towards this achievement.

Using either or any combination of the above tactics, once you unlock ten new parts, the achievement will unlock.

    Tips Appreciated

    15

    Tip Moxxi.

Once you reach Sanctuary, you will be tasked with going to see Moxxi in her bar as part of the main story quest. Simply find her tip jar on the bar and either press Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (17) to tip $100 or press Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (18) to tip $1000. Both work for the achievement, so feel free to tip only $100 to save money and still unlock this achievement. You can return to Sanctuary at any time and return to the bar to tip Moxxi.

    Win a duel.

    (4)

In co-op mode (either online with another player or locally in splitscreen), you can challenge your partner to a duel by meleeing him. Once he accepts the challenge by meleeing you back, defeat him and the achievement will unlock.

If you are having trouble, have your partner remove his shield and stand there while you attack him. You can stick to melee attacks if you want to conserve your ammo.

  • Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (20)

    Stay Away From The Light

    15

    Revive another player.

    (1)

When your co-op partner (either online with another player or locally in splitscreen) gets downed, run up to them and revive them when prompted by holding Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (21). This is almost assuredly going to happen naturally if you play the game in co-op, but if it doesn't, you can simply have your partner remove their shield and run into an area of enemies to purposely get downed, then run out and revive them.

    (2)

Bring up the pause menu while in-game and choose the Social option. Scroll to the right with Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (23) and select Mail. From there, you can see a list of all of your gear, which you can send to a friend. You can send a friend one of your items by pressing Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (24) on it and then selecting who to send it to. Once you send the item the achievement will unlock. Note that you need not send the item to someone who is playing Borderlands 3; it can be any person on your friends list.

Good Against Remotes Is One Thing

    20

Get a perfect score at the Firing Range on any difficulty.

    (16)

The Firing Range is accessed aboard Sanctuary, and first becomes available during the story quest on Sanctuary after you put out the fires in the Range. A perfect score entails hitting all targets. On normal mode, this means you'll need to hit all 15 targets in under 20 seconds.

While this achievement is possible to do solo, it is far easier to do with a co-op partner. Just bear in mind that whoever starts the firing range (by pressing the button) will unlock the achievement, so make sure to switch turns if playing in co-op. Below is a video of it being done solo, for reference. Full credit to the creator of the video.

  • Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (27)

    My Name Is Earl

    20

Buy 20 cosmetic items from Crazy Earl.

    (2)

Crazy Earl is located in Sanctuary down a short hallway from Ellie. His items can only be bought with Eridium, so make sure you're collecting it whenever possible. You'll earn some Eridium as you complete random challenges throughout the game, but the bulk of your Eridium will come from later bosses and especially from deciphering Eridian Slabs. The "Tales From The Eridian Slab" achievement solution has more information on them, but each awards you with 25 Eridium, and there are 30 slabs in the game, rewarding 750 Eridium just from the slabs alone.

Most items in the shop are pretty expensive, but the Room Decorations are by far the cheapest. You will need over 500 Eridium to unlock this achievement even if you only buy the cheapest items, but you should earn enough as you progress towards other achievements. Once you buy 20 items the achievement will unlock. Heads and skins purchased will also count towards the "Bolt-Ons" achievement, if you opt to spend more on them.

  • Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (28)

    Tales From The Eridian Slab

    20

Decipher all of the Eridian Slabs.

    (8)

Eridian Slabs are marked by while triangles on the minimap, and you'll likely notice them continually throughout your playthrough. You won't be able to decipher them until you loot an artifact from 'The Great Vault' during the main story mission by the same name. Once obtained, you can approach the slabs and press Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (29) on them to decipher them. Doing this will also give you 25 Eridium per slab. There are a total of 30 Slabs to decipher throughout the game, with most zones in the game having one or two slabs. Since you won't be able to decipher them until late it the game, you'll need to go back through the majority of the previous zones in the game. To check which zones have slabs, from the map screen, choose each zone and then press Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (30) to see a summary of that zone. Check for an 'Eridian Writing' entry on the list to see if there is a slab and if so, how many. If there are any you can't find, review to the video guide below. Full credit to the creator of the video.

Note that this achievement is known to be buggy. If it doesn't unlock after deciphering the last slab, fast travel back to Sanctuary and return to the original slab in Tannis's lab. Press Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (31) on it to interact with it over and over until the achievement unlocks. It typically takes around five interactions to force the achievement to unlock.

    Slaughterhouse 3

    20

Complete all the Circles of Slaughter.

    (6)

There are three Circle of Slaughter missions to complete. They will consist of 5 rounds, with each round having between 3 and 5 waves, each of which gets progressively more difficult. The enemies in these Circle of Slaughter missions will scale to your current level, so it will be challenging to beat them whenever you choose to attempt these. Playing them in co-op may make it more manageable but it is possible to beat them solo. These side missions will need to be completed towards the "Getting A Little On The Side" achievement. They are repeatable but you only need to complete each Circle of Slaughter once to count.

They can be found in the following locations:

    • Cistern of Slaughter: This location is accessed via the Meridian Metroplex map on the planet of Promethea and is the first Circle of Slaughter that you can find
    • The Slaughter Shaft: This location is accessed via the Konrad's Hold map on the planet of Pandora. This is the second Circle of Slaughter that you can find
    • Slaughterstar 3000: This location can be accessed by accepting a side mission on the Desolation's Edge map on the planet of Nekrotafeyo. The mission is called 'Welcome to Slaughterstar 3000' and is found as with all side missions by approaching and accepting the '!' on the map. This is the third and final Circle of Slaughter

There are two ways to eliminate most of the difficulty for these:

    1. Have a low level (relatively) host set their game to 'competitive' mode so all enemies are the same level as the host. Then, have people join who are higher in level. They should have minimal problems defeating all of the lower enemies for the host.
    2. Credit for completing each Circle of Slaughter is only given once the quest is turned in. This means someone could survive all of the waves solo (or with others) and then whoever wants credit for completing it can join afterwards, right before the quest is turned in.

Once you have completed all three at least once, the achievement will unlock.

  • Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (36)

To unlock this achievement (and each achievement for the specific planets' locations), you need not uncover the entire map. All that is required is to visit each named location on each map, which prompts you with an 'Area Discovered' message on the top of the screen and rewards you with some XP.

Rather than worry about locations and uncovering each map as you go, the most efficient way to tackle the locations is to first finish every story mission and side quest in the game, as well as every Legendary Creature, every Target of Opportunity, every Eridian Proving Ground, and each Circle of Slaughter. Doing all of that will force you to visit almost every single location in the game. Once that's done, it's just a matter of mopping up whatever locations you're missing. To check your status, go to a planet or zone on the map screen and press Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (37) to pull up a summary of that planet or zone. Check the 'Locations' line item to see if you're missing any there. There may be some obvious gray areas on the map. If not, here are some of the locations that no other quests will take you to, or that are tricky to get to count, separated by planet.

    Pandora
    • In Konrad's Hold, as you progress through this linear area, you'll come to a section on the eastern end of the map where you need to jump across a gap in houses to progress. Before doing this, you'll need to turn around and head up the stairs to a platform on top of the building called General's Perch
    • In The Splinterlands, the first area you arrive in (and one of the fast travel points) is called Pitt's Stop. This location can be buggy and not discover until you leave and come back a few times. Either drive away and reenter or fast travel away and back
    • Also in The Splinterlands, fast travel to Pitt's Stop and head north, hugging the right wall/edge of the area as close as possible. As you get to the Typhon Log near the entrance to the area off to the right, you need to be against the wall and just south of the entrance to trigger the discovery of Logan's Spar
    • In Carnivora, from where you enter into the giant open arena, head right and follow the edge of the arena in your vehicle. You'll eventually come to an Eridian Slab in the rock face. Follow this rock face to the end, and go around the side of it to find a little alcove with a chest called Azlan's Stash
    • In Ascension Bluffs, from the fast travel point in the south, head north until you get to the first Catch-A-Ride station. Just east of this is a little enclosure you need to enter to discover Spit Respite
    Promethea
    • In Neon Arterial, as you near the end of this linear zone, you'll drop down into a tunnel with guardians, which is the area where the Eridian Slab is. This is supposed to count as Restricted Catacombs, but the location only gets counted if you climb up the ledges on the right where the ammo crate is
    • In Skywell-27, you'll unavoidably come to a big open area where you fight a bunch of enemies, and you'll be able to see a symbol on your map for a Moxxi slot machine. You must head to this symbol and drop into the opening to discover Katagawa's Pleasure Pit
    Athenas
    • All locations will unlock as you progress through this area during the story
    Eden-6
    • In Floodmoor Basin, there is a location that requires very specific placement of your character. Go to the Eridian Slab in Primeval Grotto in the northwest corner. While facing the slab, follow the wall to the left and you'll come to a sign that says 'Do Not Go.' Walk up to this sign until you're touching it to get credit for discovering Jason Waterfalls
    • Also in Floodmoor Basin, the 'Get Quick, Slick' side quest takes you to a garage with a purple vehicle in it. You'll need to move around the side of the garage and go up against it to get credit for Slickhouse Garage
    Nekrotafeyo
    • All locations are unlocked by completing all quests, side quests, creatures, targets, and slabs

Note that the six Eridian Trials take place in their own unique locations, and so do the Circles of Slaughter. Those nine locations are also required for this achievement.

Getting A Little On The Side

    50

    Complete all Side Missions.

    (3)

Side missions are marked on your map with a yellow "!" and are optional. As you progress in the game it is recommend that you accept every side mission presented to you. There are a total of 73 side missions that you must complete to unlock this achievement. To check your progress, from the map screen, highlight any planet or zone and press Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (40) to bring up a summary screen. Check the 'Missions' line item to see if you're missing any missions in that planet/zone. Note that the three Circles of Slaughter and the six Eridian Proving Grounds all count as side quests towards this achievement. Also note that the 16 randomly generated "Rare Spawn" quests titled 'Kill ___' that can be obtained from the bounty board aboard Sanctuary are NOT required for this achievement. The 'Kill Killavolt' quest is required, but it is not received from the bounty board.

All side quest markers are visible on the map except one: in Floodmoor Basin on Eden-6 there is the side quest 'Get Quick, Slick' which doesn't show up on the map until you're near the garage where you get it. From the southernmost fast travel point where you first enter Floodmoor basin, head forward, grab a vehicle, and drive it straight off the edge to the lower level. When you land, head left towards the underpass. Vending machines will be on your right, and the quest marker should pop up on the left at the garage.

One other side quest not immediately visible/available is the 'Fire In The Sky' side quest. It is only available from Sparrow in Desolation's Edge on Nekrotafeyo after completing the game. Make sure you return to this zone post game to pick up the quest, and don't be worried during the story playthrough that one mission is missing from your stats summary for this zone.

Note that certain side quests, such as the Circles of Slaughter and the Dynasty Dash quests, are repeatable, so the side quest markers won't go away once completed. Each only needs to be completed once to count towards this achievement though.

Once every side quest in the game is completed, this achievement will unlock.

  • Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (41)

    100-Proof

    30

Clear all the Eridian Proving Grounds.

    (3)

There are a total of six Eridian Proving Grounds in the game. The first step is unlocking/discovering them all. They first become available late in the story when you complete the 'The Great Vault' main mission. At the end of this quest you'll get a prompt telling you that the Proving Grounds can now be accessed. At this point, six side quest markers have now been added to maps where each trial can be discovered. Simply fast travel to each map and pick up the trial side quest from the little pillars where they are. The zones they can be found in are:

    • Pandora, Devil's Razor
    • Pandora, The Splinterlands
    • Promethea, Meridian Outskirts
    • Eden-6, Floodmoor Basin
    • Eden-6, Jakobs Estate
    • Nekrotafeyo, Desolation's Edge

Once collected, navigate to each trial's location by using the navigator on Sanctuary. Each trial works the same way: you have 25 minutes to clear out three or four rooms of enemies, and then the last room contains a boss fight. The boss always has two health bars. Once you deplete the first, it regenerates a second. After defeating the boss, the trial ends.

In general, these are markedly easier than the Circles of Slaughter and should pose very little problems even playing solo. The bosses are the only real threat, but all areas tend to have decent cover to hide behind, as well as a few normal enemies that can easily be picked off if you get downed. Once you complete all six, this achievement will unlock.

  • Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (42)

    Got Big Game

    20

Defeat all of Hammerlock's Legendary Hunts.

    (1)

There are a total of ten legendary creatures you'll need to kill to unlock this achievement, and they are in fixed locations around the various planets. Unfortunately, there is no quest tied to them to use quest markers to track them. Instead, they're marked by a small green diamond with a skull inside. These only appear on your map when you visit the general area they're in.

The locations of all ten are listed below, sorted by area. Note that their level is fixed and doesn't scale to your level, so feel free to work on these creatures after you've progressed farther, making it significantly easier.

    Pandora
    • The Droughts: Legendary Crawly (Level 8) - from the south of the map, go west to the westernmost point.
    • Ascension Bluff: Legendary Skrakk (Level 33) - from the southernmost point of the map where the fast travel point is, head east and up the edge until you run into it
    • Devil's Razor: Legendary Antalope (Level 28) - right in the center of the map, just southeast of the vehicle station in the center, under a bridge
    • The Splinterlands: Legendary Phoenix (Level 27) - from the southernmost point of the map where the fast travel is, head north and hug the western edge until you round the bend and reach some ledges you can ascend. The creature is on top
    • Konrad's Hold: Legendary Manvark (Level 30) - directly in the center of the map is a travel point. The creature is just northeast of this point, and you will almost unavoidably run into it during story progression
    Athenas
    • Athenas: Legendary Chupacabratch (Level 15) - in the middle of the map you'll see a long thin road running north to south. From the northern end of this road, go directly north to run into this creature up on a ledge
    Eden-6
    • Floodmoor Basin: Legendary Chonk Stomp (Level 23) - in the northwestern corner of the map you'll see a spur of land sticking out pointing southwest. Go to the end of this spur
    • Voracious Canopy: Legendary Jabbermogwai (Level 24) - in the northwestern corner of the map, look for the hut in the swamp
    Nekrotafeyo
    • Desolation's Edge: Legendary Blinding Banshee (Level 31) - at the southern central tip of the map, on the little piece of land on the west
    • The Pyre of Stars: Legendary Swarm Host (Level 33) - from the fast travel point in the south central, head north and then go east at the fork, and then go to the spur pointing southeast

Killing all creatures not only unlocks this achievement, it also rewards you with an orange Assault rifle, which will be the same level you are when you kill the final creature. Bear this in mind, because if you wait until you're level 50, you can get the level 50 version of this rifle.

  • Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (43)

    Zer0ed In

    20

Defeat all of Zer0's Targets of Opportunity.

    (2)

There are a total of ten targets you'll need to kill to unlock this achievement, and they are in fixed locations around the various planets. Unfortunately, there is no quest tied to them to use quest markers to track them. Instead, they're marked by a small green diamond with crossed swords inside. These only appear on your map when you visit the general area they're in.

The locations of all ten are listed below, sorted by area. Note that their level is fixed and doesn't scale to your level, so feel free to work on these targets after you've progressed farther, making it significantly easier.

    Pandora
    • Devil's Razor: Hot Karl (Level 29) - when you fast travel to Roland's Rest, head left along the ledges near the buildings on the upper level to go along them to a small village with Hot Karl and many other enemies
    • The Splinterlands: DJ Deadsk4g (Level 27) - on the eastern edge of the map you'll see a spur of land sticking up and hooking around. The smaller spur sticking straight up just west of this is where he is
    • Cathedral of the Twin Gods: Crushjaw (Level 29) - at the very end of this linear map you'll jump down a pipe to reach a map transition point. Instead of going through the transition, turn around after jumping down the pipe and follow the stairs to the lair
    Promethea
    • Meridian Metroplex: Baron Noggin (Level 11) - from the northeastern most vehicle spawn, travel directly north up the road and enter the structure on the east side of the road at the end
    • Skywell-27: Handsome Jackie (Level 17) - after passing the big thruster you need to turn off, you'll progress a bit farther on this linear map and drop down to a lower level. As soon as you land, Handsome Jackie is in an alcove underneath you. Drop down to land below you and leap across the gap to find her lair
    • Lectra City: Judge Hightower (Level 17) - the northernmost point of the map, in the structure on the northeast side. You'll need to kill the judge and his whole gang
    Eden-6
    • The Anvil: Sky Bullies (Level 22) - in the circular structure in the north westernmost point of the map.
    • Jakobs Estate: Heckle and Hyde (Level 20) - the westernmost point of the map from the fast travel point, just south of a side quest marker for the Trial of Fervor
    • Ambermire: Psychobillies (Level 25) - from the fast travel point in the center of this map, exit and jump down to the lower tier. Enter the alcove right below the fast travel point to find four enemies
    Nekrotafeyo
    • Tazendeer Ruins: Sylestro and Atomic (Level 32 and 33) - the northernmost point of the map

Killing all targets not only unlocks this achievement, it also rewards you with an orange sniper rifle, which will be the same level you are when you kill the final target. Bear this in mind, because if you wait until you're level 50, you can get the level 50 version of this sniper rifle.

  • Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (44)

    Barreled Right Over Them

    15

Kill an enemy with an exploding barrel.

    (1)

When an enemy is standing near an exploding barrel, simply shoot the barrel and the explosion should kill it. This is particularly easy early in the game when enemies are a low level. If you're having trouble with this later in the game, you could try lowering an enemy's health first by shooting him before exploding the barrel. Another option is to return to an earlier section, such as The Droughts, where enemies will be lower levels. Exploding barrels seem to be more common on catwalks, so pay particular attention to catwalks when enemies come out onto them to shoot you.

  • Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (45)

    Feelin' A Little Stabby

    15

Kill an enemy, knifing them with a gun blade.

Some weapons in the game will randomly have a blade attached to the front of the gun. This can be difficult to see while holding the gun, but is very obvious when viewed in your inventory. For this achievement, simply kill an enemy with a melee attack from a gun blade. If you don't find a gun with a blade until later in the game, you can always return to an earlier area such as The Droughts and melee a low level skag to kill it in one hit, unlocking this achievement.

  • Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (46)

    Stick It To 'Em

    15

Kill two or more enemies with a single sticky grenade.

When receiving grenade mods, either by looting or purchasing, keep an eye out for the word 'sticky' in the title. Once you've gotten a sticky grenade mod, you'll need to kill two enemies with a single grenade toss. You could rely on chance later in the game, but a quick and guaranteed method is to fast travel to The Droughts and head out to a group of low level skags. Let them swarm you, and throw the sticky grenade on the ground at your feet. The grenade does not need to actually stick to an enemy to unlock this achievement. As long as the explosion kills at least two enemies, it'll unlock.

  • Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (47)

    On Fleek

    15

Equip purple-rated gear or better in every slot.

    (5)

This achievement requires you to equip either purple or orange gear into every possible slot on your character. This won't be possible until you've unlocked all four weapon slots, the shield slot, the grenade mod slot, class mods, and artifacts. Once you complete the 'Cold as the Grave' main story mission, you'll have all slots unlocked and this achievement will be obtainable. From there, it's just a matter of collecting purple or orange gear of each type. Weapons are the most common, and you will practically unavoidably come across at least four purple weapons during a playthrough. Shields and grenade mods are also common enough that it shouldn't be an issue, but you could also check vending machines regularly to see if the item of the day is purple. Purple or orange class mods will be the rarest initially, especially since the class mod needs to be for your character.

To ensure you have all of the required equipment at the same time, it's a good idea to take advantage of the safe in Sanctuary, where you can store gear. Rather than selling low level purple and orange gear, store it in the safe. That way, once you've found purple or orange of each type of gear, you can return to the safe, equip everything needed even if it's low level gear, and once the achievement unlocks you can sell what you no longer want and go back to using gear that matches your level.

  • Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (48)

    Rewards Card

    15

Earn a Loyalty Package from each weapon manufacturer.

    (3)

A Loyalty Package is received from a weapon manufacturer when you get a cumulative total of 100 kills across any weapons made by that manufacturer. There are a total of nine weapon manufacturers in the game:

    • Dahl
    • Tediore
    • Jakobs
    • Torgue
    • Hyperion
    • Vladof
    • Atlas
    • Children of the Vault (COV)
    • Maliwan

There is currently no way to track your progress towards each manufacturer (although overall achievement progress does track), so it's probably best to make a checklist so you know which manufacturers you have and haven't gotten Loyalty Packages from. Alternatively, if you purposely don't redeem the mail from each manufacturer, you can use your mail as an indication of which manufacturers have sent you Loyalty Packages.

To unlock this achievement, you'll need to enter 'Fight for your Life' by downing yourself with either a grenade explosion, barrel explosion, or launcher rockets. This is best done early on before you have a lot of health and a lot of money to potentially lose. Once you have a grenade mod or launcher equipped, simply find a corner, unequip your shield, and then throw some grenades and stand on them or shoot rockets at your feet until you go down, unlocking the achievement. This is best done either near enemies, so you can shoot them for Second Wind, or with a co-op partner who can revive you. Alternatively, if you want to ensure you don't run out of ammo or grenades before downing yourself, you can remove your shield and do this next to an Ammo Dump vending machine. Use all your grenades or rockets, then refill your ammo and repeat until you go down.

There are 5 to defeat and their locations can be found in the video below. Note that these enemies are not available until after you meet the Mayor and he tells you about them, which happens during a later story quest. Only then will these enemies show up to be killed.

Get a 21 in the blackjack minigame.

    (3)

The blackjack minigame is a chest that you open by winning at blackjack. When you approach you press Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (71) on it to draw a card, then keep 'hitting' to get as close to 21 as possible. If you go above 21 then the chest opens and grenades will spill out to kill you. These chests can be found in the many 'V.I.P.' areas in the DLC and can be farmed by quitting/reloading the game to get them to reset.

It's possible you will unlock this after simply attempting to open any of these chests as you find them, though due to the random nature of it you may find yourself farming one of these chests for this achievement. Feel free to use any that you find, however an easy chest to farm is in 'The Spendopticon' map. There is a very close fast travel point at 'Casa de Timothy' and a checkpoint just outside too, so quitting/reloading has you running only a short distance. Go into the V.I.P. area shown in the map below and then turn right to find the Blackjack chest to farm. Once you get 21, the achievement will unlock.

    Who Collects The Collector?

    40

    Defeat the wandering Debt Collector.

    (1)

The wandering Debt Collector is an enemy that spawns at random in a specific area though only after having completed a side mission. The side mission is called 'Sisterly Love', a mission that is available in Timothy Lawrence's hideout after arriving at the location during the main story.

At the end of the mission you will have to defeat an enemy called 'The Debt Collector' to complete it. After having done this, you can then begin to try and get 'The Debt Collector Mk II' to spawn for this achievement. In the area that you finish this mission a Loader bot enemy will spawn here every time you reset the area by quitting/reloading the game.

The Loader bot enemy has a chance to be 'The Debt Collector Mk II', however it may also be a Badass Shock/Fire/Frost Loader bot. To get this enemy, simply quit the game, then reload it to be spawned in this area then run to where the side mission ended to see which enemy spawns, if it's The Debt Collector Mk II, kill it for the achievement; if it's any other enemy, quit and reload the game again to get another enemy to spawn. Repeat this as many times as necessary to get the correct enemy for the achievement.

Complete all Crew Challenges and Side Missions on Xylourgos.

    (2)

There are a total of 15 Crew Challenges and 14 side missions that need to be completed for this achievement.
For the Crew Challenges, there are 5 Gaige's Gifts to platform to and collect, 5 statues to shoot and destroy, and 5 occult creatures to find and kill. Thankfully all of the gifts and statues are right on the path as you complete main and side missions, so you're likely to come across them all while completing all missions. The occult creatures tend to be slightly off the main path. The following three videos, courtesy of AchievementSquad, show the locations of all gifts, statues, and creatures, respectively. Timestamps can be found in the Youtube video's description.

Lastly are the side missions. There are a total of 14 of them, located across Skittermaw Basin, Cursehaven, The Lodge, The Cankerwood, and Negul Neshai. Side mission markers (the yellow exclamation marks inside yellow diamonds) show up on your map immediately upon entering each area. Grab each one and follow the simple requirements to complete each. Just be aware that one side mission in The Lodge is only available after completing all main missions. One added tip for that side mission: when you're prompted to "Emote with Claptrap," in case you're confused how to do this, press and hold Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (80) to bring up a wheel of emotes to choose from.

    A Hunter, Through and Through

    50

Find and kill all 4 rare spawns.

    (31)

As with the base game, where "Kill ____" quests could randomly show up on bounty boards aboard Sanctuary, this DLC has four unique rare spawn quests. Unfortunately, despite the description saying to simply find and kill them, and even being able to find and kill them whenever you want, you won't get progress towards this achievement unless/until you accept the quests from the bounty boards on the second floor of The Lodge. Once you accept the quests, simply head to the marker on your map and kill the relatively simple enemy to complete the quest.

The tricky part about this achievement is actually getting the quests to show up on the bounty boards at The Lodge. Based on my own experience and all information available that I could find, there are a few ways to get these to appear.

    • Show up on their own. While this is possible, they are called "rare spawn" quests for a reason. While grinding out fish jokes for the related achievement below, it's possible to have one or more show up.
    • Show up after killing the rare spawn. Some people have had luck killing the rare spawn, and then returning to The Lodge and having the quest be there.
    • Be online when friends kill them/complete the quest. This seems to have the most success, but you'll need to be online and in your game when someone on your friends list kills the rare spawn, and the quest seems to have a higher likelihood of showing up.

Personally, I encountered and killed three of the four while completing the story, and when I returned to The Lodge, one of those three was there on the bounty board. A friend encountered and killed all four but only had two on the bounty board later, and they were different than my one. A short time later I had all four show up, so it's possible it was related to that same friend killing some, but it's impossible to say. If any definitive solution comes up, I will update this solution.

One last option is to join the game of someone who has the quests. Completing the quests in someone else's game will unlock the achievement too.

    I'm Floundering Up Here

    50

    Listen to 25 fish jokes.

    (2)

In The Lodge, on the wall to the left behind the fireplace, is a blue fish mounted on the wall. Getting near it gives you an Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (85) prompt, which results in the fish telling a punny fish joke and spitting out some guns for you. There are other fish in various places throughout the DLC, but nowhere near enough to unlock this achievement naturally. Even if you find all the other fish, and remember to interact with the fish in The Lodge every time you come back for main and side missions, you'll be lucky to be halfway done with this achievement. To grind this achievement out, the fastest way is to fast travel to The Lodge, run inside and interact with the fish until it spits out guns, then quit to the main menu. Load back into your game and repeat over and over until this achievement unlocks.

  • Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (86)

    Good One, Babe

    20

    Watch Deathtrap kill 50 enemies.

    (6)

As the description states, Deathtrap needs to kill a cumulative total of 50 enemies. The "watch" part of the description can be ignored; he just has to get kills. There are three missions in the game where Deathtrap accompanies you and can get kills. Each opportunity is detailed below.

    1. The first opportunity is in the first main mission, 'The Party out of Space.' There are initially a bunch of human enemies in the area to let Deathtrap kill. Just be careful you don't get killed from all of them shooting at you. You'll then come to some Wolven enemies that are easily run from in circles while Deathtrap kills them.
    2. The second opportunity is towards the end of the fifth main mission, 'On the Mountain of Mayhem.' He'll digistruct into the room with you. There are lots of Kritch to let him kill here, so just hang back and/or run around while he gets lots of kills. If you were meticulous during your playthrough, you could unlock the achievement by the end of this mission.
    3. The final opportunity is near the beginning of the final main mission, 'The Call of Gythian.' Deathtrap will have a very powerful red laser that kills virtually all enemies in one shot. You can again hang back and let him get tons of kills.

Thankfully this achievement tracker does work, so keep an eye on it for these points to make sure he gets enough kills. If you miss it, there is thankfully a way to get more kills with Deathtrap after completing the DLC. To do so, you'll need to fast travel to Negul Neshai and then run all the way back to the boss at the very end of the area. Deathtrap will be in the room along with the boss. Instead of killing the boss, let him spawn regular enemies. You can then run around and avoid dying while you let Deathtrap get kills until this achievement unlocks. Credit to Wanz1 for pointing out this tactic.

Since the locations of these symbols would be impossible to explain in words, please refer to the video guide below to find each of the symbols. Be aware that if you don't succeed during the timed loot room section, you will potentially need to defeat the final boss again to have another attempt at this. Fustercluck Off

    50

Completed all side missions and crew challenges in Krieg's Mind.

    (4)

There are a total of 13 side missions and 9 crew challenges in this DLC. Aside from the hub area with the giant statue, there are three main map areas in the DLC. Each area has 3 side missions and 3 crew challenges that can easily be found as you progress in them (aside from Sapphire Run, which has 4 side missions). After completing one of these main map areas and returning to the hub area, a new side mission for that completed area will be available, which requires backtracking into the area just completed.

All of the side missions that are located in the main areas are incredibly short and require virtually no effort, such as talking to Krieg or pressing a button or two. The three side missions you can get from back in the hub area for each area are more like standard side missions. All are simple and straightforward to complete.

The nine crew challenges, of which there are three in each of the three main areas, are another story entirely. They require pressing a button on a podium, which makes multiple lights shoot out in different directions. You then have a few seconds to shoot all the light clusters before time runs out, at which point you'll need to try again. These can be very annoying and frustrating, especially if doing them solo. While they can all be done solo, they are far easier with at least one other person. Just be prepared to have your patience tested if you do them solo.

The video below, courtesy of Achievement Squad, shows all of the crew challenges.

In the Eye of a Murdercane

    15

Win a round of Arms Race.

This achievementrequires that you "beat" the DLC. To do this, you need to defeat the boss located in the center of the map, indicated by the red skull icon. By the vending machines isa spot to drop into the boss arena.

Before you can stand a chance against the boss, you'll first need to obtain good enough gear. This is done by looting chests and killing enemies, just like in the main game. You'll start with absolutely nothing and spawn at one of a few set spots, but be aware that there will always be a white long weapon chest very close to where you spawn. You don't need to melee enemies to find weapons to start. Once you've gotten those (likely) white weapons and hopefully a shield from the nearby chest, you'll be in good shape to kill pretty much all regular enemies. Even the white weapons seem to be good. Choose an area of the map to go to (preferably one you haven't been to yet that's still grayed out, to make progress towards "Complex Made Simple") and kill enemies along the way, keeping an eye out for weapon chests. You could go to one of the treasure caches marked on your map, but I always ended up getting just as good gear from enemies as from chests. Once you have at least elemental green weapons or regular blue weapons, you're in good enough shape to beat the boss depending on your skill in the game.

As for the boss himself, he is the same every time you play a round. He has a blue bar of health for his shield that you must first deplete, then a yellow armor bar you have to take off second, and then a red health bar. Obviously having shock and corrosive weapons is ideal, but like in the main game, having enough firepower will get you through any fight. The arena is pretty small and you'll have to deal with regular enemies continually spawning. I found it best to hide behind one of the four pillars if need be to let your shield regenerate. Whittle down his health and you shouldn't have many issues. The boss himself doesn't do much damage to you once you remove his shield, so get rid of it as fast as possible, because the electricity dome he shoots is pretty strong. It's mainly the enemies that'll chip away at you constantly, so don't hesitate to take them out first. As soon as you beat the boss, you'll be victorious and this achievement will unlock.

    (1)

There are a total of 20 named locations around this map that you need to discover in order to unlock this achievement. There is an in-game challenge associated with them, so you'll see a progress bar pop up on the left side of the screen whenever you discover a new one. You do NOT need to color in the entire map. I still had a few chunks of gray on my map when I unlocked this achievement. All of the locations are big areas to discover. There aren't any that require being in a special place or specific spot. So, in general, as long as you go to each gray area on your map, you'll gradually make progress towards this achievement. I recommend each time you start a new round, head out to a gray area while the Murdercane is still far away so you can look for more locations and find gear there. Once you discover all 20, this achievement will unlock.

    Treat Yo Self

    75

Extract 100 pieces of gear from Arms Race.

WARNING - It has been confirmed that, on Playstation, gear extracted in co-op play only counts for the host towards this achievement. If you're not the host of a co-op game, you won't get credit towards this achievement for any gear extracted. This has not been confirmed on the Xbox version, but be warned.

This is a cumulative total across all rounds of Arms Race played. It will be a decent grind after unlocking the other two achievements, and most of the time you'll spend completing this DLC.

Gear is extracted only by first collecting some gear of course, and then locating one of a few gear extractors located in random places around the map. Unfortunately, each extractor only can extract 3 pieces of gear. The exception to this is the extractor found after defeating the boss. This one extracts up to 5 pieces of gear. *NOTE*All gear you extract goes directly into your bank in Sanctuary, so before even playing this DLC, make sure you have room in your bank.

To make this achievement go by as quickly as possible, here is my recommendation. First, get the other two achievements. You'll likely get a decent chunk of this achievement done along the way. Once all you have left is this achievement, assuming you don't care about the actual loot and just want this achievement, here is how I approached each round. As soon as you land, open the nearby weapon chest. It was virtually always two guns and two shields for me. Pull up your map and find the gear extractor closest to you. Run directly to it and ignore all enemies but keep an eye out for chests. If you find a chest, open it and grab the gear and keep running. When you get to the extractor, interact with it and then mash Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (105) until it extracts. This should send away everything except your shield, assuming you only have 4 pieces of gear from that first chest, which is perfect since all you need is a shield to avoid dying to the next extractor. Now run to the next closest extractor, again ignoring enemies and looking for weapon chests. Repeat the same extraction process. If a third extractor exists, repeat for this one too.

At this point, once you've extracted your gear or used up all extractors, let enemies kill you. You shouldn't have a shield, so they should down you quickly, then hold Borderlands 3 Achievement Guide & Road Map (106) to give up. The reason for doing this is twofold. Firstly, it takes a lot of time to kill the boss, and you likely don't even have any gear left to attempt to kill him without looking for more. Secondly, replaying a new round after killing him requires you to fast travel away and then back, waiting for all those loading screens. In my experience, it's faster to get 6-9 extractions and then kill yourself and jump right back in, rather than waste time trying to get those extra 5 from beating the boss. Again, this is just my recommendation. If you stumble across a really good purple or orange gun and are fully confident you can kill the boss quickly without issue, then go for it on that round, and use the fast travel as an opportunity to make room in your bank if need be.

Once you've finally extracted 100 total pieces of gear, you'll unlock this very grindy achievement.

    Demysteriouslierified

    25

Solved all murder mysteries for Ava's podcast.

    Story-related; cannot be missed.

This achievement unlocks upon completing the fourth and final murder mystery case for Ava. To start the first case, head to Sanctuary and go to the "front" of the ship where the navigation controls are, and on your right will be a hall leading to your quarters. Head inside to the quest marker to start the mission. Similarly, each time you complete a case, you'll need to return here to accept the next case. Each case is very linear, heading through a linear area to the end of it, and none should pose any problems. The final case involves a boss fight against a boss with two blue shield health bars and one yellow armor bar, so it's a good idea to at least bring a good shock weapon to the fight. This boss regenerates shield very often and very quickly, which can make it very frustrating if it refills its shields after you just spent a bunch of time and ammo whittling it down. For this reason, ignore the regular enemies and focus on the boss entirely until it goes down. Once it is defeated, you'll unlock this achievement and also receive a "mysterious amulet" from a chest, which is critical to unlocking "Might Beyond Sight."

    Blood Sucking Freak

    75

    Defeated Hemovorous the Invincible.

    (1)

Unlike all other raid bosses in the Borderlands series, this one does not require you to complete any story missions before the mission to fight it becomes available. Instead, you can immediately head aboard Sanctuary and down to the bottom floor where the drop pod is. There is a little side room with Claptrap where you'll find the quest marker to accept this mission. Note that you'll also be given access to a lootable container on the same table, and it contains 500 Eridium, so make sure to grab it. You'll need to pay 500 Eridium to access the raid boss.

With that done, you can now head to Pandora and follow the quest marker to get to Darkthirst Dominion where the raid boss is. There will be a giant door that you'll need to interact with to pay 500 Eridium to enter. Note that this cost of Eridium only needs to be paid once while you remain in Darkthirst Dominion, so if you die and respawn, you can head right back in to try again free of charge, as long as you don't fast travel away or exit Darkthirst Dominion.

This raid boss is a varkid. It starts off as a normal varkid, and like all varkids, after you damage it enough, it'll go into a pod in the group and morph into an adult, then badass, then super badass, and then finally Hemovorous the Invicible. The stages leading up to its final form aren't really any different than normal varkids. During this time and during the entire final form, there will be plenty of varkids (which can also go into pods and morph into adults and badasses) around the arena also attacking you. While this may seem like a bad thing, it's actually a good thing, as they provide plenty of opportunities to kill something to get a Second Wind if you get downed and enter Fight For Your Life. As far as Hemovorous himself, he has first a yellow armor health bar and then a regular red health bar. Despite these implications (i.e. that corrosive weapons should be ideal initially and then incendiary once his armor is gone), myself and others have experienced inconsistencies with his vulnerabilities: I was getting the "RESIST" popup when shooting it with a corrosive weapon, and I have seen shock weapons tear through his red health bar faster than incendiary ones, so don't hesitate to try a couple different weapons out to see which one is mosteffective.

Its actual attacks are pretty limited: it will throwa bunch of varkid eggs at you, either shooting through the air or rolling on the ground (these can all either be dodged or can be shot to blow them up before they hit you), it will burrow underground and pop up (so make sure you aren't under its red skull icon when it comes up), it will melee attack you if you're close (so obviously keep your distance), and later in the fight it'll shoot elemental spit balls at you that will also coat the ground and make for damaging elemental puddles all over. As a result, the general strategy is the same as all raid bosses: keep moving, keep your distance, and keep shooting. Strafe in circles around him to avoid most attacks, and keep shooting. The varkid eggs can tear through your shield and health really quickly if you're caught off guard and not moving or shooting, and multiple crash into you. If the eggs are rolling on the ground, aim low to shoot any coming directly at you, and if they're coming from the air, aim high. These are the strongest attacks, so never get stuck in a situation where they rain down on you.

That's really the only strategy you need, as it doesn't have much attacks. I was able to beat it solo on normal mode with no Mayhem modifiers on my first try, being level 65 with all orange gear, even though my gear was mostly in the high 50s from previous DLCs. However, your ability to solo this raid boss will depend heavily on your character build and your available gear. If you find yourself struggling, don't hesitate to seek out co-op partner(s) to team up with to take it down.

    Might Beyond Sight

    25

    Destroyed 50 mysterious Eridium piles.

    (1)

The "mysterious" Eridium piles referred to in the achievement description are actually invisible ones. There are two ways to make them visible: using the pistol from the story mission in the Bounty of Blood DLC, or using the Mysterious Amulet obtained from completing the story missions in this DLC. Obviously the latter is the preferred method, so first finish all of the murder mystery cases for Ava before attempting this achievement. With that done, equip the Mysterious Amulet (it's a purple artifact in your inventory). The best place to grind out this achievement is the Grand Opening map in Handsome Jackpot. That's of course assuming you have the first DLC installed. If not, Voracious Canopy on Eden-6 is reportedly decent for this too, but Grand Opening is by far the best. Whichever you choose, here is the most efficient way to grind this out.

Fast travel to the area and make sure the amulet is equipped. Run through the linear area and look for shiny Eridium piles. Two notes here: only the ones shining actually count for this achievement, and if playing the Handsome Jackpot route, the Eridium deposits are actually in the form of dark purple canisters, not piles of Eridium. Run around the map keeping an eye out for them and melee all of the shiny ones. When you get to the end of the map, the fastest way to reset the lootables is to pull up your ECHO device and go to the Mayhem tab. Change the Mayhem settings on, which will reset the map. Now run back the other way and repeat. The deposits/canisters are always in the same spots every time (they aren't randomized) but which ones are shiny are random. Using the Handsome Jackpot route, I got all 50 in only three runs of the map, so it can go pretty quick. I found most VIP doors to be a waste of time to check behind, but feel free to check for yourself, as your mileage may vary. Once you've destroyed a cumulative total of 50, this achievement will finally unlock.
