Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows Recipe (2024)

Today I'm sharing another easy homemadegift idea that children can make themselves. This very simple recipe is for chocolate dipped marshmallows with sprinkles, another favourite Christmas treat in our household!

These yummy chocolate marshmallows look beautiful served on a platter for party food treats at any time of year, or pop theminto a cellophane bag and tie them up with ribbon for a pretty homemade gift or party favour.

I used Christmas sprinkles for our marshmallows, as we usually make them for Christmas presents, but you can use any sprinkles of your choice, from rainbow hundreds and thousands to flowers or snowflakes to suit any time of year.

Be sure to check out my recipe video so you can see just how easy these are to make, and look out for more fun chocolate gift recipe ideas in the video too!

I'll also often make these with dark chocolate for a dairy free treat, and if you're making them in bulk you could also use a mixture of milk, dark and white chocolate.

One more tip: if you have any chocolate left over after making these, don't waste it but instead use it to make a few homemade giant chocolate jazzies instead!

Chocolate Dipped Marshmallows

Ingredients:

  • 200g marshmallows
  • 100g milk chocolate
  • sprinkles of your choice

Method:

Break up the chocolate and pop it in a microwave safe bowl. Melt the chocolate by cooking at30 second intervals in the microwave, stirring in between each time until it is smooth and lump free. Take care not to burn it!

Dip the marshmallows one by one into the chocolate, then place on a smallbaking tray or plate, chocolate side up. Take a good pinch of sprinkles and sprinkle liberally over the chocolate.

Repeat until you have used up all of the marshmallows, then place the tray or plate into the fridge until the chocolate has set hard.

Pop into an airtight container somewhere cool until ready to serve, or place in cellophane bags and tie with ribbon if giving as gifts.

I've found that a 200g bag of marshmallows usually contains around 25 marshmallows, so this recipe makes enough for nice sized gifts for 2 people, but you can easily double or triple up the recipe if you needmore.
