Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice Recipe (2)

Are you trying to bake a delicious pumpkin recipe that calls for pumpkin pie spice but don’t have any in your pantry? Well I have you covered with this delicious, 4-ingredient homemade pumpkin pie spice recipe!

I took my favorite store-bought spice and recreated it so I could make it whenever I needed to (which is often, especially in the fall).

This recipe takes minutes to make, and it will perfectly infuse your favorite pumpkin recipes (like pumpkin pie, pumpkin cake, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, etc.) with rich fall flavors.

Pumpkin Pie Spice Ingredients

I highly suggest making this homemade pumpkin pie spice with organic spices to avoid all additives and preservatives.

I usually do a breakdown of all the ingredients in a recipe, however with this one I suggest adjusting the spices as desired if you’d like.

You can add ½ tsp ground allspice to the mixture, if you’d like. I prefer not to use it (my favorite store-bought variety does not contain allspice).

How to Make Pumpkin Pie Spice

I don’t think this recipe could be any simpler – which is one of the many reasons why it’s so great. We’ll walk through how to make pumpkin pie spice step-by-step, and don’t forget to watch the video.

Begin by combining the spices together in a medium-small bowl. A larger bowl makes the mixture easier to stir without spilling.

Next, stir the spices until they are completely combined and the mixture is hom*ogenous (uniform throughout).

Then, use a small funnel to pour the seasoning into a 2.5 oz glass jar with a lid (in this post I used these jars, which are 2″/5 cm wide and 2.3″/6 cm tall). Or, if the mouth of the jar is large enough you can simply use a small spoon to transfer the mixture.

If you don’t have a funnel and you’re using a narrow jar, you can transfer the spice mixture to a piece of parchment paper or even a regular piece of paper, fold it and use the crease to carefully pour the taco seasoning into the jar.

Store

Store the homemade pumpkin pie spice in a glass jar with a lid in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.

Try to use spices that have similar expiration dates. I suggest writing down the earliest expiration date on the jar so you know how long it is good for.

Make a Label

I suggest labeling the jar so you don’t forget what spice is stored inside. I bought this embossing label maker for $15 and I love it. Use it to quickly create a label for your spice mixture.
